If you are living in pain from a herniated or bulging disc, spinal decompression may be the answer you have been looking for. Back pain caused by a herniated or bulging disc can be debilitating. Our office is equipped with a system that combines a machine that we manually control for a treatment called spinal manual decompression or flexion and distraction. Our office takes it a step further and is equipped with an automated spinal decompression table.
Manual Option With the use of this decompression technique, we can relieve the pressure caused by a herniated or bulging disc and decompresses the spine. This in turn can pull the herniated or bulging material back into the disc. This specific and custom technique creates a vacuum-like effect that pulls the soft bulging disc material back into the disc and thus relieving the pain caused by this material.
This is a specific treatment that can be customized to the needs of each patient. Therefore, treatment time and frequency will depend on the case at hand. Typically, each treatment lasts longer than a typical chiropractic adjustment. The manual version is several minutes long, and the automatic is about 15-20 minutes long. Patients usually have 2-3 treatments a week for about four to eight weeks. Contact our office for more information on this treatment option.
